And it seems that it works! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
As some of my Twitter followers might have noticed I have a Yellowbrick YB3, a wee little satellite messaging & tracking device using Iridium satellites, in test for the upcoming ski expedition to Vatnajökull. I’m just learning to use the thing but it seems to work and I’ll continue trying and testing on the trip to Sarek National Park. I might even send a test updated or two to my blog while there…
I’m using the YB3 tracker and Samsung Galaxy Xcover Android phone with Yellowbrick’s Messenger app and this combination enables sending custom messages (up to 1000 characters) to any e-mail address (or to my blog) anywhere in the world. Plus both of the devices are IP67 rated with decent if not god battery life.
And if I have the time on Monday evening I’ll post a bit more about the plan and the trip. If not, you’ll get to read about it later as a trip report.
